Marathon Sees Strong Production

US integrated Marathon Oil booked strong production growth during the first quarter of this year, but sharp declines in oil and natural gas prices are expected to hit the company's bottom line. The Houston-based firm estimates firstquarter production volumes of 429,000 boe/d, based on data from its January and February operations. The performance surpassed Marathon's initial production guidance of 400,000-415,000 boe/d.
