摘要

Management of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS) has considerably improved [1]. However, despite this improvement, ACS is still one of the major causes of death worldwide [2]. Previous studies have shown that in unselected patients mortality was significantly higher in non-STEMI as compared to STEMI patients. However, in those studies performance of coronary angiography, revascularisation and prescription of guideline recommended pharmacotherapy were suboptimal [3] and patients with non-STEMI might benefit from early reperfusion [4].We aimed to evaluate the characteristics, treatment and outcome of an all comer ACS population and to evaluate the differences between STEMI and non-STEMI patients with an aggressive invasive approach. From January 2006 to December 2009, individual patient data from all patients with discharge diagnosis of ACS at our hospital were recorded. According to the presenting ECG, patients were categorized as non-STEMI or STEMI.
