Taiwan’s SOP exports totalled just over 14,300t in May, up by 15pc year on year, according to GTIS data. Japan was the largest recipient at around 2,400t, up sharply from 851t a year earlier. January-May exports were running largely in line with 2016 at 65,900t. Japan remained the leading export destination at just over 24,000t, a rise of 40pc year on year, again illustrating the robust demand it has seen this year.
