Acute ischemic stroke and timing of treatment

To the Editor Dr Saver and colleagues1 used the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke (GWTG-Stroke) registry to investigate the association of time to tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA) treatment and outcomes from stroke. However, the authors did not address the handling of transient ischemic attacks (TIAs) and stroke mimics within the registry, which is a potential confounder in the abstraction method used in the study.
