India's JSW Steel Marked A Record Result For 2010 Third Quarter- Steel sales highest ever both for volume and amount -

JSW Steel of India announced its operational performance for 2010 October - December quarter. According to the report, steel sales reached records both in terms of volume and sales amount on quarterly basis. Steel products' sales volume turned out to be 1.593 million tons which is an increase by 12% from the same quarter previous year. By product type, sales volume of semi-finished steel products decreased, while sales volume of finished steel products such as flat products and long products increased, contributing to the profit growth. As a result, net sales for the quarter turned out to be 5,771 crores (up 26% from the same quarter previous year) and profit after tax to be 382 crores.
