Transaction prices of containerized ferrous scrap imports into Taiwan are changing little so far at a level of 450-455 US dollars /MT C&F for a composition of 80% No1 HMS/20% No2 HMS. In Taiwan, Taichung-based electric steelmaker Feng Hsin Iron & Steel Co currently sets its purchase price of locally available ferrous scrap at 13,100 NT dollars/MT, a price that would translate into about 454 US dollars /MT. By a simple comparison, what the company pays for local ferrous is on a par with the current transaction prices of containerized ferrous scrap imports into Taiwan.
