A. The use of mouthwashes in regular oral hygiene and the management of oral conditions continues to gain popularity. The most recent UK Adult Dental Health Survey suggests that mouthwashes are most commonly used by younger adults, but adults of all ages may benefit from them. The range and variety of mouthwashes can, however, be bewildering to an individual who is simply encouraged "to start using a mouthwash", be it by a healthcare professional or friend.
