The dictionary definition of a "pharmacist" is, and I quote: "A person who is professionally qualified to prepare and dispense medicines ."Yet the first recommendation of the report commissioned by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society entitled "Now or never: shaping pharmacy for the future" states that "pharmacists and their employers must shift focus away from dispensing and supply of medicines towards providing a broader range of services" (PJ 2013;291:482).
