Develop public health standards, DoH tells RPS

Professional standards for public health should be developed by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in conjunction with public health organisations, the Department of Health's chief pharmaceutical officer Keith Ridge has said. Speaking at the English Pharmacy Board meeting last week, Dr Ridge said that, from his discussions with the public health community, he had identified a likely need for the RPS to work with the Faculty of Public Health in developing professional standards of practice. He told The Journal that the RPS will need to consider carefully how other pharmacy bodies can contribute.
