A FOUR-MONTH suspension from the Register has been handed by the Fitness-to-Practise committee of the General Pharmaceutical Council to a locum pharmacist who made false applications for payment for services provided to Superdrug. At its meeting on 12 September 2010, the committee inquired into the case of Shiraz Mughal (registration number 2064703). Information had been received by the committee that in March and April of 2009, Mr Mughal had worked four days on three separate occasions as a locum for Superdrug. In each case he submitted a proper claim for the work done and the expenses incurred, and those claims were properly paid.
