Approach the sale of aspirin with caution

While carrying out locum work recently, I have had a number of patients wishing to buy soluble aspirin 300mg tablets.This is not a sale I would normally intervene with when working with appropriately trained staff. However, a recent Daily Mail article "How to ... survive a heart attack" has resulted in people wanting to carry aspirin for prophylactic use in the event of themselves or another person developing acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
