More than 80 per cent of orders for some medicines are not fulfilled

Over 80 per cent of orders for some medicines, such as Lundbeck's Cipralex and Lilly's Cymbalta, are not being supplied when pharmacists place an order with their wholesaler.The British Association of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers has surveyed its members to find out the quantity of unfulfilled orders for medicine packs from pharmacies, hospitals and dispensing doctors in the UK. The medicines surveyed are drugs that the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee has identified as those which pharmacists are most concerned about obtaining.
