A downturn in consumer sentiment in Europe and the USA has ensured that spot prices have continued on a downward path during the past month and spot market activity has remained slow. However, underlying demand for moly-containing material in countries situated in the Northern Hemisphere has not vanished completely, indicated by customers enquiring their contracted volumes. In China, steel producers have been increasing their off take this month but remain cautious about the near-term outlook.
