European metallics prices fell for the third month running in July, though the declines witnessed were less severe than those seen in June. Scrap merchants were hit by a further weakening in demand from EU mills, however, the reappearance of Turkish buyers in the export markets helped to limit the extent of price reductions. In most European markets, domestic scrap has fallen by just ?10/tonne over the past four weeks, compared with widespread reductions of up to ?30/tonne in the preceding month.
