Definitive prostate cancer treatment is often curative but might be associated with significant long-term consequences for urinary and sexual function. For example, in the Prostate Cancer Outcomes Study, men undergoing radical prostatectomy and radiation therapy had significant declines in sexual and urinary functional domains over a 15-year follow-up period.
