New Elk idle position to be extended as Cline awaits better market conditions

Market conditions just keep biting coal projects in the backside. The latest announced setback - or continued setback -comes from Cline Mining Corporation, which in early July temporarily suspended production at its New Elk metallurgical coal operation in Colorado in order to manage costs and preserve the company's financial condition. While the length of the suspension was expected to be approximately 60 days, the mine, due to "current market forces," will remain idled until conditions improve.
