North African prices were assessed at $1,420/mt CFR, flat on the week. Offers had been heard increased in number, a result of easing supply issues in Asia, sources said. “Prices are not going up,” a producer source said. “On PP copolymer, there is demand but on homopolymer it’s weaker.” Sellers had been heard entering June with steep increases but these were not heard achieved as fundamentals had not been as strong as expected. One buyer source said he would rely on stocks in June to avoid paying any increases. Elsewhere, in Turkey, prices were also assessed flat on the week at $1,459/mt CFR. Market activity remained muted after the elections in the country. Sources said they expected prices to fall amid a lack of demand. “Since the elections there has been some economic turbulence, a drop in the lira. This meant trouble for the market. Everyone is quietly waiting for the currency to normalize.”
