US monoethylene glycol markets remained quiet on the week, assessed flat Friday at 33 cents/lb ($728/mt) FOB USG. Market sources saw limited activity on the week with a trader saying destocking may need to occur along the polyester chain. A trading source said buying from Asia will slow down during next week’s Lunar New Year. The source said any orders being placed currently will arrive after Lunar New Year, but he expected that deals for post-holiday product have already been made.
