Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene slumped $35/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,675/mt CFR China and $1,665/ mt CFR Southeast Asia Wednesday, amid weak demand from end-users and ample supply. High run rates at ABS plants on the back of profitable margins kept supply long, said trade sources. The ABS margin based on the latest Platts SM, butadiene and acrylonitrile CFR China markers was estimated to be $25.50/mt above the breakeven level of $1,649.50/mt CFR China.
