Asian high density polyethylene prices dipped this week on the back of poor buying sentiment and thin trading activity. HDPE-film was assessed at $1,430/mt CFR Far East Asia Wednesday, down $30/mt week on week. Elsewhere, it was assessed at $1,480/mt CFR Southeast Asia, down $20/ mt over the same period of time and at $1,515/mt CFR South Asia, down $5/mt week on week. Buying sentiment remained bearish across the region. In China, end-users are grappling with poor orders for finished products. “Since prices were on a downtrend now, buyers adopt a wait and see stance,” a Middle Eastern producer said.
