Spot prices for polyethylene terephthalate were stable week on week as the market firmed in anticipation of higher August prices, while hot wash flake prices declined as expectations of August declines began to hit the market. Virgin spot prices were assessed at Eur1,195-1,200/mt FD NWE Wednesday, while UK prices increased by GBP15/ mt, to GBP1,045-1,050/mt FD UK, boosted by a weaker pound sterling relative to the euro.
