The March PTA contract was at 68.1 cents/lb ($1,501/mt) delivered, up 2.01 cents/lb on a pass through of the month's 3-cent/lb increase in paraxylene. PX was likely to head lower in April, sources said, as participants looked to the lower market in Asia and believed the US would follow. The 2.01- cent/lb increase in March amounted to a 1.75-cent/lb hike in costs per pound of PET that PET makers were trying to cover with their 3-cent/lb price initiative.
