Asian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene continued to soften this week — for the fourth week in a row — assessed down $20/mt to $1,920/mt CFR China and $1,940/mt CFR Southeast Asia, despite rising feedstock prices. Market sources across Asia said demand was weak, although there were some positive indications from a Taiwanese producer, who said recent price cuts had spurred some buying interest. In Taiwan, Chi Mei further reduced its offer to $1,950/mt CFR China this week, down $30-50/mt from the previous week, while Formosa Chemical & Fiber Corp was heard to have cut its price to about $1,930/mt CFR China, down from $2,000/mt the week before.
