Asian high density polyethylene prices were firmer this week on the back of high feedstock costs and demand in Europe. HDPE-film was assessed at $1,330/mt CFR Far East Asia Wednesday, up $5/mt week on week, at $1,348/mt CFR Southeast Asia, up $3/mt and at $1,390/mt CFR South Asia, up $10/mt over the same period. Traders and producers in Asia said they were receiving an overwhelming number of inquiries from Europe. A Indian trader said he sold some material last week at $1,495/mt CFR Spain.
