PTT cuts scope of Vietnam refining, petchem project

Hanoi—Thailand’s PTT has reduced the scope of its proposed refining and petrochemical project in Vietnam and expects to submit its feasibility study on the project to the Vietnamese government in two weeks, a PTT spokeswoman said Wednesday. PTT was originally expected to complete the feasibility study in April 2014, but the submission has been delayed as the company needed more time to finalize the study, and was also waiting for Thailand’s political situation to stabilize, Le Huu Loc, chairman of the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province, where the project is to be located, had said in June.
