US oil rail volumes up 28% from a year ago

Houston—US rail transport of petroleum and petroleum products in the week ended July 20 totaled 13,361 cars, up 28% from the year-ago week, the Association of American Railroads said Thursday. Year to date, petroleum product shipments totaled 395,551 carloads, 45.5% above the same period of 2012, the group said in a weekly report.
