Gazprom commits to East Siberian project

Moscow—Russian gas giant Gazprom has taken a final investment decision on the Chayandinskoye, or Chayanda, project in Russia’s eastern Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and a pipeline linking the field to the port of Vladivostok, expected to cost a total of $38 billion, as well as raising its 2012 capex to $28.3 billion. “Gazprom’s management has taken a final investment decision supporting development of the Chayandinskoye field, as wel as transportation and processing of gas,” the company said in a statement on October 30.
