Ecuador seeks additional oil-backed loan from China

Quito-Ecuador is close to signing another $2 billion loan from China backed by crude oil sales, Finance Minister Patricio Rivera said late June 14. The loan would have an eight-year maturity, with a two- or three-year grace period and an interest rate of 6.9%, Rivera said in a joint press conference with President Rafael Correa in Guayaquil.
