US gasoline demand slips

New York-US retail gasoline demand fell as prices rose in the week ended January 9, according to MasterCard Advisors’ weekly SpendingPulse survey released January 13. On a four-week moving average, gasoline demand at the pump fell 3.6% from the yearago period, with an average 63.824 million barrels consumed each week, down from the year-ago 65.714 million barrels.
