Eni shuts in 24,000 b/d after Nigerian pipeline hit

Cape Town, South Africa-Italian oil major Eni has shut in 24,000 b/d of crude oil after militants sabotaged a pipeline in Nigeria, the company said late July 8, though Shell, which also suffered an attack on a crude pipeline the same day, said its output in the area has been unaffected. In a statement on its web site, Eni said its equity share of the production loss was 4,800 b/d.
