US extrusions demand failed to benefit from a hoped for boost from restocking Q1 as distributors and end users alike maintained a hand to mouth existence. Underlying demand from key consuming sectors remains dismal, with construction markets still to bottom out, while the transportation sector clearly has further room for downwards movement.
