Vietnam Plans Increased Import Duties On Urea. DAP to Help Local Producers

Hanoi—Vietnam's Ministry of Finance plans to raise the import duties on urea and diammonium phosphate (DAP) to 6% from 3% to support local producers. During the January to April 2014 period, the country's inventory of fertilizer rose to 685,000 tons, with urea inventories increasing 900% from the year-earlier period to 138,000 tons, according to the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem).
