E&P Infrastructure at Risk as Louisiana Coastline Erodes

The US Gulf of Mexico is swallowing the coastline of Louisiana, putting more than $100 billion in oil and natural gas infrastructure at risk over the next 25 years. That was the sobering finding of a statecommissioned study that said 610 miles of oil and gas pipelines built from the 1950s to the 1970s will be exposed to damaging salt water as the natural defense barrier of the coastal plains gives way and disappears.
