Editor's introduction Taking Contemporary Drug Problems into a new era

In the previous issue of Contemporary Drug Problems (37: 2), Robin Room signed off after editing the journal with distinction since 1985 (Room, 2010). On behalf of all readers and contributors to the journal, I want to begin my period as Editor by acknowledging Robin's exemplary contribution. As anyone who has published in Contemporary Drug Problems will know, Robin was never content merely to forward peer reviews of articles to authors but also added his own substantive and insightful comments, suggested reading, and encouragement. I also want to acknowledge the important contribution of CDP's past Associate Editors who assisted Robin along the way: Jim Baumohl, Louis Gliksman, and Craig Reinarman. Robin, Jim, Louis, and Craig have left the journal in fine shape.
