Cobalt price will not average below 30 dollars in 2008, or under 10 dollars in 2012

A straw poll of cobalt producers, consumers and traders by MB suggests that there is no belief the price will average below 30 dollars per lb this year, or fall below 10 dollars per Ib in the next five years. The short survey was carried out earlier in June, when low-grade cobalt was still being bought and sold at over 45 dollars per Ib. Prices have subsequently come off sharply, with low-grade falling to below 40 dollars per Ib on the low side last week.
