摘要

Despite the increasing predominance of biotech plantings, Brazil remains a leading supplier to Europe of non-biotech soy, with premiums averaging 15% or more paid to farmers under the Soja Livre program, according to Ricardo Tatesuzi, executive director of Abrange, an umbrella group representing non-biotech grain producers.Speaking at the "Sustainability in the Soy Supply Chain" conference, hosted by the ProTerra Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting sustainable agriculture practices, on April 24, in London, Tatesuzi reported that non-GE seed varieties are experiencing impressive yields in Brazil, according to Agra Europe, our sister publication. BRS Gralha is achieving 74.7 sacks per hectare, followed by BRSGO 8660 at 71.6 sc/ha; M-Soy 8866 with 70.4 sc/ha; and BRS Serena at 70.1 sc/ha.
