Provisional FAI data identified closing May inventory of urea with individual Indian states at a massive 2.06 million mt, up sharply on the 425,000 mt inventory at the same time in 2015. That volume does not include inventory at plant level, at ports, and tonnage en-route to states. Sales of urea in April (983,000 mt) and May (1.91 million mt) close to 2.9 million mt were down by 36.8% on the 4.59 million mt delivered in April and May 2015, primarily due to the adverse weather conditions highlighted in earlier reports.
