INDIA: The new contract price benchmark set in China at $400/mt CFR is expected to provide support for a substantial price increase in contract talks for the supply of standard MOP during April 2011 to March 2012. It is understood that formal negotiations will only commence once the country's budget for the next financial year is announced on February 28. The budget is set to stipulate the volume allocation and the maximum retail price (MRP) for MOP. The current contract price in India is $370/mt CFR with 180 days credit.
