Total has seen a fall in Q1 profit due to lower oil prices and a drop in oil and gas production. Total produced 2.32m boe/d in the period, down 2% from the same quarter last year. The French giant said this was mainly due to the shutdown of the Elgin gas field at the end of March last year after a huge gas leak.
