Australia’s Po Valley Energy has encountered gas with the Gradizza-1 exploration probe on the La Prospera licence in northern Italy. The well, drilled by LP Drilling’s hydraulic rig Corsair 300, reached a total depth of 3,379ft (1,030m). On the completion of logging operations, Po Valley confirmed the well had intersected a 33t (10m) gross gas column in the primary target area of the Quaternary sand level, with 30ft (9m) of net gas sand.
