Arctic-Brazil-Africa boom coming

The Arctic is the next frontier for offshore discov-eries, while deepwater plays in Brazil and WestAfrica are set for a capital expenditure boom,according to analysts Douglas-Westwood.Speaking at the IADC World Drilling Conferencein Copenhagen, Douglas-Westwood’s CEO,Andrew Reid, said: “More than 400 fields havebeen discovered to date in the Arctic, providingreserves in excess of 240 Bn boe. There is nodoubt that further drilling activity in this regioncould have a major impact on offshore productionin the foreseeable future”.
