Mexico Rethinks Upstream Oil and Gas Offerings

Mexico has shelved a planned offering of shale and other unconventional acreage and is postponing the auction of deepwater Gulf of Mexico exploration blocks after a recent auction of oil and gas acreage--its first ever--yielded disappointing results. Speaking Tuesday night on a televised interview program, Energy Minister Pedro Joaquin Coldwell said the unconventional auction is now "suspended for a future evaluation."
