Indonesia's Medco Energi is seeking companies to farm-in and finance a 50,000 barrel per day oil project in its Area 47 permit in the Ghadames Basin in western Libya (IOD Oct.1'14). Industry sources say Russian-owned Dea has seen geological data for the concession held by state National Oil Corp. (NOC) in Tripoli but has declined to take a stake. Smaller trading firms such as Swiss-based Tenergy Trading have also approached the Indonesian firm regarding pre-financing for Area 47.
