Gazprom Hopeful About China Deal

Negotiations for Russia to supply gas to China may have stalled, and a raft of issues yet to be agreed on, but Russian export monopoly Gazprom is optimistic about clinching a deal soon. Analysts say a price gap remains between the two sides, but there are also issues related to where and when the gas will be sold to be determined. China’s voracious appetite for gas is most acute along its industrialized east coast but Russia would rather sell to the west.
