Report Touts Potential Global Impact of Unconventional Gas

The potential development of unconventional gas resources in China, India and Europe could contribute significantly to global gas demand by 2030, according to Wood Mackenzie, and would likely alter global LNG trade flows and exert pressure on major piped importers into Europe. But the growth in unconventional gas output in these areas is unlikely to disrupt pricing of long-term gas as it has in North American markets, the UK-based consultancy said.
