A flurry of last-minute lawsuits relating to last year's Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster were filed late on Wednesday to beat the deadline for submissions, including suits filed by BP which sought to pin much of the blame on contractors Transocean and Halliburton. A total of 43 lawsuits were filed in New Orleans on Wednesday Apr. 20, and 29 were filed on the preceding Tuesday.
