Range Picks Up Texas Interest

Just weeks after venturing into the former Soviet republic of Georgia, Australian explorer Range Resources is buying a 25% interest in a Texas oil and gas field as it continues to diversify away from its core interest in Somalia. Range is acquiring the stake in the North Chapman Ranch project in Nueces County, Texas from privately held Crest Resources of the US and will partially fund a well, and pay for costs of development in the event of a discovery.
