Russian Export Duties to Rise

Russian oil export duties are expected to jump in December after a brief respite this month, which could hit exports. Crude oil duties may rise by $40/ton to $271-$273/ton ($36.97-$37.24/bbl) from $231.20/ton ($31.54/bbl) in November, said Alexander Sakovich, the deputy head of the finance ministry's customs department. The government will decide the duty at the end of the month based on the price of Russian Urals export blend from Oct. 15 to Nov. 14, which is expected to average $75.94-$76.35/bbl.
