Following the depletion of Tengizchevroil’s (TCO) crushed lump stocks, total exports from Kazakhstan fell by 44pc in the first half of this year, down to 959,000t. China took receipt of the largest share, equivalent to 35pc, at 334,000t - but still down 62pc on the prior-year period. In March, TCO suspended rail shipments of sulphur from Kazakhstan to China.
