Portland cement pollution standards proposed

The US Environmental Protection Agency is proposing changes to standards limiting air pollutants from Portland cement manufacturers and providing the industry with more time to comply, the agency said Monday. “These amendments, which are consistent with the [Clean Air Act], if adopted, will also provide less costly compliance options and compliance flexibilities, and thereby result in cost savings for the Portland cement industry,” EPA said in pre-publication version of the proposed amendments.
